My motivation for joining PostdocNL arises from personal experience of the impact that a supportive community can have on postdoctoral researchers navigating environments with limited guidance. Upon entering an international setting immediately after completing my PhD—particularly one characterized by constrained resources—I encountered significant challenges in accessing opportunities and mentorship. It was through the support of fellow postdoctoral colleagues, who recognized the importance of scientific engagement and exposure, that I was able to identify pathways forward and continue my academic career. This experience has deeply reinforced my commitment to cultivating and strengthening such supportive communities.
