The PostdocNL board, made up of postdoctoral researchers, represents the Dutch postdoctoral community nationwide. The board consists of 8-9 volunteer members at a time, with a chair, secretary (vice chair), and treasurer. Additionally, we have board members who are responsible for maintaining our website and social media, for interactions with the unions and policy discussions, for liaising with the local networks, and for participating in committees such as the Dutch-wide Recognition&Rewards programme or the Diversity&Inclusion initiatives. Each member of the board has a specific role with defined responsibilities. The current board members and their roles can be looked up here (LINK).
Crucially, PostdocNL maintains a strong two-way connection with the Local Postdoc Networks (LINK) at universities and research institutions throughout the country. The PostdocNL board meets with representatives of the local networks quarterly. During these meetings, the board shares any relevant information with the local networks and also takes input and suggestions from the local networks that will then be communicated to the ministry, funding bodies and other stakeholders through PostdocNL.
This organisational structure allows PostdocNL to be both responsive and representative, ensuring that postdoctoral voices are heard and supported nationwide.
